“A MAGIC POTION”.

SPECIFIC OBJETIVES:

Tittle: “A Magic Potion”.

TIMING: 6 to 7 sessions.

SPECIFIC OBJETIVES:

1. Recognise and produce vocabulary and discourse dealing Halloween in its oral and written form. (related to the curr. Objectives: 1,2,3,4,9)

2. Use language appropriately and confidently to describe things and create dialogues, valuing English to communicate. (curr. Objectives: 2,6,7)

3. Use stress rhythm and entonation correctly in questions and discriminate and produce sounds related to the vocabulary (curr. Obj: 1,2,9)

4. Understand the general meaning of a story and short descriptions, using them as models to produce coherent written descriptions. (curr. Obj: 3,4)

5. Show a positive attitude towards learning and self-evaluation, using learning techniques and revision strategies, (curr. obj.: 7,8 )

6. Learn to use the resources available, including ICT’s to complete investigation work on British culture. (curr. obj.:5,6)

7. To use ICT’s to practice new vocabulary (curr. objectives: 9,10)

8. Make a theatre to practise vocabulary. (curr. objectives: 5, 9)

CONTENTS:

CONTENTS:

BLOCK 1: Listening, speaking and communicating

1. Comprehension of simple oral messages and orders to do tasks related to Halloween.

2. Listening and comprehending simple messages/directions/song/story from audiovisual mediums.

3. Oral interaction in simulated situations with verbal/non-verbal responses.

4. Dramatization and dialogue, with previously learnt vocabulary/structures.

5. Basic strategies to support comprehension/expression: use of the visual/non-verbal context.

6. Valuing English to communicate.

BLOCK 2: Reading and Writing

1. Reading words/sentences related to Halloween, previously learnt orally.

2. Using reading strategies: visual/verbal context and previous knowledge about the topic/situation.

3. Writing words and sentences related to Halloween.

4. Using computer programmes to read/write vocabulary.

BLOCK 3: Knowledge of language through use.

3.1. Linguistic Knowledge

1. Awareness and correct production of stress, rhythm, intonation.

2. Identification and use of elementary words (witch, skeleton, ghost, pumking, hat, bat, spider, magic, potion, snake) and structures: How many…?, affirmative verb “to be” commands, different questions and prepositions

3. Global association of the graphic form, pronunciation and meaning from models.

4. Showing interest in the use of English.

3.2. Reflections on the language

1.Use of repetition/memorizing/association of expressions with visual elements, and observation of models.

2. Use of ICT’s to practice language and find information.

3. Develop self-confidence in the capacity to learn and participate and cooperate in pairs and groups.

BLOCK 4: Socio-cultural aspects and intercultural awareness

1. Active participation in a game and role-play.

2. Show a receptive attitude towards people who speak another language/have a different culture.

TASK:

· they will look for in the computer some information about Halloween in the English speaking countries.

· They will prepare a poster with all information about Halloween.

· They will learn some words about Halloween.

· I will give them some photocopies to draw and colour it. Then they will make a hats and a masks about Halloween.

· They will make a Halloween riddles and quiz.

· They will make a magic potion and they can discover the different animals with the witch prepares a magic potion.

· Finally, they will learn a song and a rhyme,
